SUPPLYBASE NEWS

May 18: New Three Year Agreement with Chevron

Three operating divisions of Chevron Australia - Gorgon, Wheatstone and the Australian Business Unit have recommitted to Supplybase via a three year access and services contract signed this month.

Supplybase will be working with Chevron personnel to further enhance the Supplybase system and to deliver greater value for buyers and sellers. Major emphasis will be placed on the currency of data in the system.

May 11: Vendor Document Repository

Supplybase Gold and Platinum registration now includes document folders into which HSE, Financial and Quality Assurance documents such as policies and certificates can be securely uploaded.

This is the first stage towards the introduction of standardised pre-qualification for the Oil and Gas industry. The intent is to develop a checklist of documents required by all Operators to reduce the amount of duplicated effort involved in the pre-qualification process.

The Vendor Document Repository is initially available to Gold and Platinum vendors only.

May 4: Description Field now Visible to Vendors

Gold and Platinum level Vendors can search the Supplybase database to identify prospects or potential alliance partners. This previously only provided contact details, however we have now exposed the Description field to vendor searches to provide more information about each company.

The Description field has always been important for optimising keyword search visibility, but it is now even more important that you provide a concise description of your company's service offering in this field.

Mar 8: Update Regularly to Stay Current

A new feature of Supplybase is a colour coded field indicating the date each supplier record was last updated. This will give buyers an 'at a glance' view of the currency of each record and will highlight those records not properly maintained.

To stay 'in the green' please make sure that you visit your Supplybase listing at least once every three months and check that all of the information contained in your listing is still current.

Feb 20: New Suppliers List now links to Supplier Record

All new Gold and Platinum subscribers are listed on the entry page for Operator level users (buyers) when they log in. This now links directly to the supplier's record, increasing the exposure value for new suppliers.

Many more system enhancements are planned and will be rolled out throughout 2010

Important Information for International Suppliers

Non-Australian companies seeking invitations to bid on Australian projects should be aware of the Enhanced Project By-Law Scheme (EPBS). The Scheme provides relief from customs duty on certain capital items while encouraging the involvement of Australian industry in those projects and in global supply chains. More details...
